Christmas Music

9 posts in this topic

Is it just me or does anybody else realize that as of 0:01 on 12/26, the playing of Christmas/seasonal music just about stops? The season actually runs thru 01/06, doesn't it?

Doc you are probably right but I would have to assume with all the political knee jerk over reaction to not offending any one that is why it ends on 00:01 on 12/26. Sure I would like to listen to it till then but in the same token since all the stores start there Christmas season before Halloween its time to start Valentines Day or whatever.

So Merry Christams enjoy it while it lasts .

No offense, but I cant wait till it ends, I get so sick of it. There arent enough songs to play, so hearing the same thing for 5 weeks, it is just too much.

One week is plenty.

5 weeks or not it's still a lot better than a lot of the crap people have the audacity to call music!!!!!

Doc22,

I will agree with you on that. I just think the christmas season drags on too long. I mean every other holiday ends on the holiday, and christmas is the only one that seems to keep going and going, Energizer should have used santa or rudolph as their mascot, not the bunny, lol.

6018: 1/6 "Little Christmas" is the 12th day of the christmas season. Based on celtic tradition, it is the last day of the Christmas season, and the traditional day to take your tree down. Think of it as the final day of the christian version of hanukkah.

Very well done, CFD320! I agree the season does drag on but I think that's because it starts MUCH too early! I think that the whole Christmas thing is getting way too commercialized, and that's why it starts so damn early! Early December is PLENTY early, don't ya think?????

Christias is usually ended in the Christian calendar with the feast of the Epiphany (when the three wise men visited Jesus in Bethlehem). This is celebrated on January 6th.
