BLUE LED's on MTA Busses

5 posts in this topic

The MTA just recently added "Select Service" busses on the BX12 line here in the Bronx. These busses have very BRIGHT Blue LED's on the front of them (Two at the top corners and one behind the windshield). They are very eye catching and the bright LED's which is supposed to let passesngers know that a "Select Service Bus" is coming but also causes motorists to move over, especially at night when it looks like an emergency vehicle.

Here is a video of it I took last night:

I wonder if this is legal according to the NYS VTL ?

I thought only vollie FD could have forward facing blue lights?

FYI these LED's are always illuminated whether the bus is stopped or moving.

i guess it's similar to those visibility lights they have on school buses but those are white and they but them in the back and you can turn those on and off .

Who cares?

very nice attitude. What if I replied to every post on this site like that? This is a forum, many people have different ideas, opinions, facts and nonsense. Some you agree with some you don't.

If you don't like what I wrote then move on.
