Fugitive hedge-fund swindler who faked suicide back in custody

A fugitive swindler from Armonk who faked his own death has surrendered to authorities and is now in police custody in Massachusetts, the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed this morning.

He turned himself in to the Southwick, Mass., Police Department at 9:30 a.m. today.

"For our little town this sure was a surprise," police dispatcher Wendy Cordeiro told The Journal News/LoHud.com. Federal marshals are on site, she said.

I dont get these guys.. Why the hell run if your gonna hang out in the US?? He was smart enough to swindle all that money but didnt have the brains for a bailout plan to a non-extriditing (<~unsure of that spelling) country.. O well club fed now.

Did the girl friend turn herself in to? people are stupid. You can re-start you life in another state or country. You dont have to fake your own death.
