Think about the number of SS#'s you see in a day... its a criminal's wet-dream.

Really, given the amount of trust many people provide to first responders and the accessibility of personal information, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Maybe it does and we just don't hear about it. Combine these things with the relative low pay of EMS and you have a recipe for problems. The only saving grace is that the majority of people take up EMS because its something they want to do vs. "its just another job."

Its always disheartening to see trust violated because it makes everyone's job more difficult.

This is a terrible thing. We trust these people enough to save our lives by any means possibe, not to steal our id's. Who ever comitted this act should be banned from the force. There is a fine line of what they can do and cant do. They are allowed to look in the wallet for a positive ID, but they cant touch anything else. This person is incredibly immoral and in my opinion, really mean.

Here in California if convicted they would never be able to work in EMS again. You cannot receive or keep a EMT Cert or Medic License with a felony on your record.

As others have said, a total abuse of the trust given to people in our professions. If guilty, throw the book at her and let her rot in the small cell.
