Danbury firefighters rescue man's best friend

by John Pirro

DANBURY -- A dog named Scooter, stuck in a smoke-filled house, got his bark back when local firefighters cleared his lungs with a pet rescue mask. "He out in the yard playing now, and he's fine," owner Chris Andrade said, several hours after the 1-year-old Boston terrier was saved Monday morning.

Yes, I believe we have one or two in New Fairfield, though I'm not certain, as I don't work the bus.

All companies in SFRD received pet masks recently. They were given by an animal association, not sure which one. We need to remember that people are incredibly close to their pets, and anything we can do to help is a plus for the department image.
