Found these photos at another forum (FireEngines.net). Photos by Dave Broadwell of lacountyfire.com

FYI, these are brand new rigs. That must have been some radiant heat!!

I've confirmed that those photos were taken by Dave Broadwell. He is a Captain of the LACoFD, and owner of www.lacountyfire.com

HOT HOT HOT..... Not the first time and wont be the last. Rig placement is important, I have seen this happen a few times in Dutchess. The departments shall remain nameless.

Make them reserve engine's and buy new ones. The last one looks like it was close to some sort of explostion. Thank god it was a fire truck and not a firefighter. Fire trucks can be replaced, we can't be.

last one looks like it was too close to a massive fire. Firefighters can move engines in pump cannot.

To note, the damaged engines in the photos were new ones.

Both LAFD and LACoFD have excellent dedicated body and mechanical shops as part of their departments. They are already in the process of repairing the damage, a majority of which was cosmetic.

That sucks...gotta watch the placement and not just for what is there upon arrival but what may be in the long run.

As far as making them reserves? Why? They are brand new...nothing wrong with them except some paint, new lenses for the lights and glass.

ALS, looks like the last one needs a NEW lightbar. The whole end of it has melted.

Still cheaper than 3 new rigs though... Thats some rediculous heat damage... I suppose with a fast moving fire like that in such tight quarters as the alleyways of a movie studio are, there isn't much time/room to get out of the way.
