City Of New Rochelle EMS Bus Question

4 posts in this topic

Just looking through the photos of the New Ro fire today on NYCFire.net, and noticed there was a seemingly newer Transcare bus in one of the photos, with the standard Transcare markings.

Do the New Ro EMS buses (30-A-1 and 2) no longer striped/marked for New Rochelle EMS and Sound Shore Hospital? Maybe I'm just out of the loop down that way, but I know it was like that. I thought it was part of the contract for the buses to be marked as such?

I was over at the scene this morning, and both buses that are striped/marked for New Ro EMS and Sound Shore Med Center WERE there with their usual paint scheme. Yes, there was also another TransCare bus on scene and also LVAC was leaving the scene when i got there. My guess is with the report of numerous elderly trapped, 60 must have sent both A1 and A2 along with LVAC (the usual first M/A bus into the city) and also asked for additional from TransCare just in case.

Ah, Thanks. I was kinda figuring that, but I hadnt seen any of the New Ro marked buses around in awhile so I was just curious. Either that or it was a spare.

Also, TMLVAC, AKA 30-A-3 lol!

FYI - Transcare Unit #'s designated to NREMS

30A1 - 260

30A2 - 270

Spare rig - 714

All 3 have the NREMS/Soundshore Lettering Design

The unit in the picture of the Apartment fire on 12/21 is a Mt. Vernon Transport rig (Sometimes used as '30A3' or '30B1')
