Prices for home heating Oil

7 posts in this topic

I know it's early but has anyone out there started calling oil companies for pricing for the upcoming year yet? I called a few in Dutchess and right now they are averging around $5.00 a gallon. Has anyone else started looking yet and what's the prices you are hearing?

not a clue, but my father mentioned he planned on getting the oil in the next few weeks to avoid the usual (but possible) price surge in the in the winter. pretty good idea, unless the aliens land with the mothership and deliver free oil or the price of oil simply decreases...i'm starting to believe the probability for either is the same.

I am scared to death about filling up both of my 275 gallon tanks this summer...

i REALLY wanted to put a woodstove in my basement this summer..but that aint happening...

Luckily - we keep our house cool in the winter and do not use much fuel....average of 62 when we are home...

I have a group of people i got together all interested in pellet stoves....I contacted a few dealers and we are going to get a pretty good deal considering we are going to buy 10 at once.,....while buying them we are also prepaying for pellets , about 4 ton for each stove. oil wise i only plan on buring what i need for hot water and that is it.
