FDNY*EMS Stretchers

Just curious, is FDNY*EMS still using the Ferno two man lift in cot???

I beleive they are, as I witnessed it the other day, which raises my curiosity....are they looking into another type of stretcher, or do they like the current one because of it's comapct size?

Some of the units in the Bronx are trying out the striker strecthers> I know they are looking into the 1 & 1/2 man type

All the old ambulances are being replaced, and as they are replaced, the new ones are outfitted with the Striker 1 1/2 stretcher. They are already out in each borough.

FDNY has switched to a new style of the Fernon ProFlex Model 35P. It was suppose to have some changes from the normal production model but couldn't tell you what.

Look for the Ambulances with the LED lights and blue Veh numbers.
