New Haven GSW save 5/24/08

Last night both crews from New Haven Fire as well as AMR responded to a call for a victim of a GSW on Popular Street in the city. crews arrived and the patient was a code 200 - traumatic arrest. The crews worked the patient all the way to the ER. 2 min out the pt was still a code and the medic did a chest decompression. needless to say the guy is now in very critical condition but at least alive. Nice job by both the crews. Good Job

It is a shame to see what Poplar Street in New Haven became. My family extended family used to live there, and over the years, it has gotten progressively worse. I remember watching from my great-aunt's front porch as a bank robber made his big escape on a bike one day. He was promptly arrested in the everybody's food market parking lot.
