As well I believe NYPD's Aviation numbers are the last 2 digits of their call sign on the side of the craft...

I got some nice photos of Aviation 15 2 weeks ago when the Police Commish attended a funeral in Pearl River and Orangeburg FD was called to set up the landing zone !

I think Oswego is spot on. Commissioner needs to be at these events, but he certainly doesn't need to fly.

From a time management perspective it's probably more efficient and economical to fly.
