Fire destroys seven LOOP buses; no interruptions in service expected Monday

A top county transportation official said today he doesn't know what started a weekend fire that destroyed seven LOOP buses and took two more off the road, but he said weekday service Monday will not be interrupted.

A fire broke out in a 2000 LOOP bus, a Bluebird model, sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 12:40 a.m. today, said Irving Cure, general manager of the county's LOOP bus system. The buses were parked in the LOOP Dutchess County Bus Facility on Commerce Street in Poughkeepsie when the fire broke out.

Todays article says that 9 buses were destroyed

Maybe the first numbers were obvious destroyed, and now, after looking at the 2 they said were only damaged, were now deemed to be beyond repair.
