Dutchess woman dies in fire at home  

DUTCHESS JUNCTION -- A 67-year-old woman was killed Saturday in what authorities described as a fast-moving fire at her home off Route 9D in Fishkill.  

The name of the woman was being withheld Saturday night pending notification of her next of kin. Police and fire officials said the cause is still under investigation.  

About 50 to 70 firefighters battled the blaze, Dutchess Junction Fire Chief Dave Scully said. He deferred comments about the details.  

Fire investigators were still combing over the scene at 9:30 p.m., he said.  

Fishkill police Sgt. John Miller said there was no one else in the house "as far as we know.''  

The home, approximately 700 yards up a mountain, lies just north of Dutchess Manor, Scully said.  

No firefighters were injured in the fire that broke out at about 5:25 p.m.
