Mt. Pleasant Police Honor Officers for Outstanding Achievements

MOUNT PLEASANT - Town police held their annual awards ceremony at the Town Board meeting this week, recognizing officers for outstanding work over the past year.

Several officers were honored for investigations and arrests on cases involving a fraudulent home-improvement contractor, the theft of copper wiring from a Con Edison storage yard, and a carjacking.

In one of the more unusual cases, Officer Frank Cavallaro was honored for overcoming a naked, mentally deranged martial arts expert.

Dispatcher Ryan Rodgers was commended for successfully instructing a man to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on his unresponsive wife, while Officer Sean Forde was honored for saving a woman who was choking at an adult day care center.

Officers Jason Patane and Peter Blume were cited for ending a violent outburst of an emotionally disturbed person without causing injury and getting the person medical care.
