Nick Spano Decides Not to Run

2 posts in this topic

Republicans will have to find somebody else to take on Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins this year.Former state Sen. Nicholas Spano, who lost to Stewart-Cousins in 2006, announced yesterday that he would not try to recapture the seat he held for nearly two decades. He said he wanted more time to "smell the roses" before getting back into politics.

"I consider this a sabbatical from public office and, at 54, I still think that at some point in my life I will be able to make a contribution," Spano, a Yonkers Republican, said via telephone. "But in the meantime, I am going to be able to exhale a little bit and not live the hustle and bustle, seven-day-a-week schedule that I lived."

I generally like politics and can’t stand politicians, but I did like this guy. He helped out a lot with the emergency services in my town…and even at my vac. This other lady hasn’t done a damn thing for us…she needs to be outed.

I liked Spano, too.

Her election victory over Spano was hardly an overwhelming mandate from voters...

she "won" by a whopping 18 vote margin.
