On February 2nd, former NYPD Officer now NYC DEP Police Sergeant Ed Klan suffered neck and shoulder injuries while responding to a residence for a report of shots fired. While responding to the call Sgt. Klan lost control of his vehicle on an icy road, causing it to roll over. Sgt. Klan the father of 2 children is now home awaiting further medical treatment and his money, sick time and vacation time have officially run out. Due to the fact that the City of New York or the NYC DEP does not provide Line of Duty injury protection for their DEP Police Officers. Sgt. Klan was forced to refinance his home in order to make ends meet.
