Is there anyone out there who's out at FDIC, and can give us the lowdown what manufacturers launched new products, what was displayed, etc?

We have not been on the floor yet as it (the floor) opens tomorrow. Rest of the FDIC has been great. The presentations have exceeded my expectations.

KME is displaying Wood-Ridge, NJ's new heavy rescue, as per that department's website.

There were a lot of good vendors there and products. I liked Pierce's new PUC... they combined the Velocity which has a lot of good features, and the PUC which saves space. You also have the option of adding an Aerial device to the PUC.

I also liked Ringer's 343 Project... it's a new prototype of a glove they are making... www.the343project.com

Scott was showing some airpacks which had a newer device to change bottles, and a "buddy sharing system" basically a hose on each pack you can connect together so you and your partner can share the air if one person runs out

ARA Safety FIT-5 - a grenade type thing that knocks down a pretty good size fire within seconds

There was also a truck manufacturer there showing an aerial device (I forgot the name, i'm trying to find it) but the truck can be completely un-level and the ladder will stay level... that was pretty cool (see picture, it's not that great but you get the idea... Does anyone have the company name?)

There was one by Ferrara. It has a boom on it with nozzle that I've never seen before. I think the boom said gradal on it. I may be misspelling that. But I know they make construction equipment. Im putting up some pictures I took of it. Sorry they're not the best.

In that picture it shows that boom in the foreground. It looks kind of odd.

From what I understand, Miami-Dade has a new Spartan Furion/Braun ambulance on display that was really nice (I have seen the photos, just can't find a link to them or permission to post)

Also, as mentioned Pierce had a variety of PUC units there including a side-top mount pump panel AND a quint w/ PUC....seems they are really pushing that concept.

There's a 9 page thread of pics and info about the apparatus displayed at the show on firepics.net. Only costs $2 per year to join, for those who haven't already. Well worth it, in my opinion.
