The 51' Ladder was recently scene on E-bay, don't know what happened to it. The 71' Ladder last I heard was still going strong in Preble,NY. The 78' Pumper was a spare in Rye Brook, it recently turned up in a private collection in Upstate, NY. The 66' Pumper was turned into a tanker and worked down south somewhere. The 60' Rescue went south of the border-I believe South America. The Rescue served us for a total of 34 years, it had the open cab enclosed around 1973 ,and a full rehab in the early 1980's

Look at that beautiful fleet of Maxims! Wa-Wa-Wee-Wa and yay Valhalla! I've always wanted to see Rescue 9 up close and personal and in color! Thanks for sharing!

Me too! I remember my father bringing me to the firehouse when I was a kid and letting me sit on top of the fire trucks - the open cab was the best!!!

I can't beleive someone has a picture of Shelton CT Engine 1, affectionatly named "Jumbo". For those who don't know, Shelton's Ahrens-Fox was a 1939 BT (1250 gpm) model and saw many years of service. The AF is still owned by the Echo Hose, H & L. Co. 1 and still is pumped at the Engine 260 Muster in Milford.

IM so glad that my department has a open cab maxim still in service. Nothing compares to the open cab in great weather!!

Look closely at the aerial shot of Ladder 49 in the lineup. Notice the skylights on the cab? Used to check for overhead obstructions when pulling up on scene, and also got some extra sunlight in the cab. They leaked just a bit though.
