Stratford (Fairfield)- Working Fire 03-06-08

Time: Approx 1615

Location: Pleasure Beach Island

Frequency: 154.3100

Units Operating: Stratford FD, EMS staging, FD boat being launched

Description Of Incident: Initial location information was confliting. E3 while enroute reported colomn of smoke from Pleasure Island. Units O/S reporting it appears multiple cottages are on fire. Car 1 command, Car 3 operations. Requesting Harbor Master be notified, and Command requests a Bridgeport FD Batallion Chief to the scene.

1633-One structure fully involved, beginning to spread to the structure to the west.

1635 Shelton toned mutual aid for a marine unit to "Eagle's Nest"

1636-Per Shelton dispatch command post is at "Eagle's Nest"

1650-Bridgeport sending boat to assist.

1654-Front end loader enroute to scene to assist. Command also reported some grass fires lighting up.

1702-First house has burned to the ground, a second fully involved now.

1703-Extension to third cottage now reported.

1707-Car 1 reports to Car 3 that there may be propane tanks out there. Car 3 states it will be difficult to being operations with the very low tide.

1713-Command requests Brush 4 from station 4 as soon as the next shift arrives.

-Update from CTFire-EMS.com loader that was enroute is to knock down the exposures, that site also reports the police chief has requested Trooper 1 for water drops.

1724-Operations reports they are preparing to knock down a cottage in order to stop fire spread.

1735-Update from ops reports 2 cottages burned down, one still burning, working on the fire block.

1750-Wind has died down, situation is improving

1951- Two lines in operation hitting hot spots...Shelton and Stratford units both working.
