(02/28/08) YONKERS - The Yonkers City Council has approved a move to stop drivers from running red lights.

Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced a plan to allow up to 50 red-light cameras in Yonkers as part of his new state budget proposal last month. The City Council overwhelmingly approved the measure Tuesday night.

Great, When I go home at night, I will actually have to wait for all of the lights? I can't wait to see where these will be set up!

I just read the article, and Coucilman Murtagh and Lesnick are absolute idiots. Civil liberties don't include running red lights while speeding and killing someone! Nor should we car if it is a Yonkers resident that gets ticketed or not, you do the crime, you do the time! Once again, the city of hills, where absolutely nothing is on the level. Obviously these guys are more concerned with votes than what is RIGHT!
