Jealous!!! I wish I had the cash to drop on my pov like that... Whack-Tastic, but very tasteful.

The only other thing I would go for would be 5% (limo dark) tint on the windows and black steel (police package) rims. Thing would look like the batmobile...

I I had to guess, I would say it is a private security guard. There is a security guard for a auto dealership near me that drives a Chevy Lumina with a police package and decked out with police style striping and lightbar(amber) and pushbar. Some people just have unique taste. Heck, if I could afford my own custom built firetruck, I'd certainly have one!

The only problem with that is that it would look more like apolice car. Right now if he were on the highway he would catch a lot of speeders and that is for sure. But again that is a sweet car and i saw it in person too and let me tell you that it is lit up!

look real close the driver side has them as well. It says that they are low profile so maybe you can only seem that at some angles or with a flash? I still wounder who needs a car like this for "private" use. The lights cant be blue or red if it is can they?

I think the car is AWESOME, and if I was a millionare and had money to burn, I would definetly buy one. I can see it on MTV "Cribs" now, lol

I don't know who owns the car or what it's for....but I do know that it does have some other goodies that I've been sworn to secrecy about.

Don't forget, the guys who outfitted this car help pay the bills around here.....SPECIALTY WARNING SYSTEMS.

2008 Dodge Charger SRT8, Custom Outfitting By SWS

Specialty Warning Systems recently completed this privately owned, 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8. The LED warning system incorporates a Whelen Liberty lightbar, eight head (front mounted) Dominator Super LED lightbar, lower rear window Inner Edge LED Traffic Advisor and two rear window dual Dominators, all controlled by a Whelen CenCom Gold system controller.

A Go Rhino pushbumper was installed and serves as a mounting platform for the front Dominator and two HID driving lights. The trunk contains a Havis-Shields sliding trunk tray for first responder equipment, two LED compartment lights and two TIR3 LEDs for additional warning to the rear, when the trunk lid is raised. The sliding tray allows for bulky equipment to be consolidated in one common location, remaining out of the way until required.

A “nightstripe” reflective graphics package was installed…..virtually undetectable during the day, it affords a significant amount of nighttime reflectivity when illuminated.

Just wondering how this is Legal? I see some serious impersonation / legal issues, not to mention that the V&T law states volunteers, both fire and EMS can have only 1 single light, and they specify the candle power.

I'M JEALOUS!!!!!!!!

I think I actually saw this vehicle driving up the HRP about 2 weeks ago, and all I could think was "WHO THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!?!?" LOL

Sweet Ride!

This is what inevitably happens. You do up a unmarked Charger like this in order to look like a police car. Now, even if you have no intentions of doing anything "less than legal", it's inevitable. You cruising down the highway and someone cuts you off. Your 'evil' side gets the better of you for a moment, and you just can't help but to light them up for a second.

If I could just tell you how many impersonation cases we handle secondary to guys picking up used police CV’s and Impalas and doing the same thing.

Here is my guess, could it a car used for construction or the "wide load" escort cars?

Just a shot in the dark

If those are amber, I don't think there is a limit to the number of lights that he can display.

Are clear lights legal in NY? Or a Blue/Clear light? I think they are illegal, but hear conflicting reports, even from LEOs...

Then again, how often does this stuff (having multiple blue lights) get enforced? I see plenty of guys (vffs) with strobes or red/blues in the rear...

More police are enforcing the fact that if you are a volunteer you can only have 1 blue light flashing at a time in the front. Doesnt necessarily have to be in new york or connecticut they may have just gotten the car all tricked up there. Who knows.

It's a Pound Ridge Fire Fighter's private vehicle. Another sick addition to his fleet

I would imagine that Specialty Warning Systems made sure that the person who owns this cars has legitimate reasons for having this work done to the car.

Just a random thought, maybe this a car for a federal agency, but it just cannot be publicized as a federal car. Just a random thought, no idea.

Displaying of any White, red, blue, amber, colored lights on vehicles are covered under Laws of New York, VAT (vehicle and traffic).

Article 9 Equipment of motor vehicles and motorcycles § 375 (41). Colored and flashing lights.

Spells out exactly what's allowed, and when.

BUT, with the advent of clear LED's, does that make for a loophole in the law, or do LED's fall under clear?

I would say it's legal to put whatever you want onto your vehicle, it's using it that's the issue.

Again, AWESOME car. Think of the car shows with the souped-up hot rods people collect or have to toy around with. Only for buffs, lol.
