Need technical help

10 posts in this topic

Hey guys. I have powerpoints with videos embedded in them that for some reason updated versions of windows xp which I guess its media player that would run them, do not work. Only on the older versions, a OFPC FPS told us that it is something wtih the newer version, but I need to know if there is a way to fix this problem? Any help or if anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know.

Have you tried punching the computer?

NO< Remember585, punching it won't work in this case. I think with this situation he needs to drop kick it!

Well I've flicked it off and yelled at it, "F'ing windows, piece of $hit." and it still doesn't play them.

Ha. Hey Tommy, I am sure your ego-hungry persona can come up with some solutions. As a former jarhead, I mean Marine, you should have more then enough brains to figure this one out. If you don't, maybe your co-worker from Station 5 (L.F.) can come up with something....

Switch to Linux and OpenOffice. Not enough time for that? Have you tried a stand alone PPT viewer? Also check to make sure you have all the updates for both Windows Media Player and Offfice XP. If you need help locating updates, let me know. As a stopgap measure, can you get me a copy and I'll see if maybe it just doesn't need some fiddling to work with newer versions.
