I saw that Mythbuster episode too. Based on their data, cell phones will not ignite gasoline.

I also remember seeing reports (and talking the firefighters that were there) that there was a gas station fire in New Paltz (Ulster Co.) where a cell phone was the documented cause of the fire. Regardless of whether it can or can't......

I also appears to me that the driver was not answering a cell phone and I would suspect that the ignition was due to static electricity from clothing.
