I just finished posting a Bronx fire from this evening and was curious about how cities like New Rochelle and White Plains with your growing number of sky scrapers would handle a similar incident. I know everyone has their end of the world disaster drills but with the increase in the number of high rise buildings has any of these cities began planning for how they would address one of these fires that generate large numbers of relatively stable patients and how long does it take to get that help on scene? Is there any coordination with hospitals to determine how many pts they can accommodate before you start heading over? Is there a county wide common frequency that EMS can use for all the mutual aid that will be coming in? I've seen these jobs quickly get out of control because the people in charge tend to underestimate them. You're standing around BSing about how this is ruining your dinner break when suddenly Fire dumps a dozen civilians that were holed up in a stairwell and the 3 fire fighters from the first in line on you.
