Yonkers Finest at Work

Ypd_patchOn October 31, 2007 at 9:45 p.m. Westchester County Aviation (helicopter) notified the Yonkers Police Department that a car was driving on the baseball field in Sullivans Oval. The helicopter followed the vehicle as it left the ball field and proceeded on the city streets in an attempt to flee the area. Yonkers patrol units searched the area and followed the helicopter’s directions. Officers stopped the car (green 2004 Kia) on Van Cortlandt Park Avenue and Lakeside Drive. The four occupants of the car were arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. The damage to the baseball field was extensive.

* Joseph Messina, 17 year old male of 176 Voss Ave.

* Justin Santiago, 17 year old male of 55 Caroline Ave.

* Pedro Marty, 17 year old male of 147 Stanley Ave.

* Hector Jimenez, 18 year old male of 273 Morsemere Ave.

All four suspects will be arraigned in Yonkers City Court on 11/13/07.

Taken from City of Yonkers.com YPD-Good Police Work Section-November 2007

This is in the November 07 section because of the time and date it occurred...October had already been closed out. A couple of members of this site were involved in this job...including YPD ESU personal, The helo pilots, and the dispatcher (don't know the guy...LOL). Was very smooth and all went down in about 47 seconds, as my Captain pointed out! Just goes to show you how the "eye in the sky" can save the taxpayers some monies!
