Description Of Incident: 2 Tractor Trailers(one Tanker) and 4 cars

East Lyme (WTNH) Interstate 95 is closed in both directions in the East Lyme/ Waterford area after an accident involving several vehicles.

Police say there are reports of fatalities and injuries, although no details are available.

Two tractor-trailers and four cars were involved in the accident on the southbound side of Interstate 95 near exit 75.

One of the trucks is pulling a Northeast Carriers' tanker. Liquid could be seen coming out of the under side of the truck. Firefighters say the truck is leaking diesel fuel.

Firefighters sprayed foam over the accident scene to prevent any fires. Some small fires were reported. They are also digging a trench in the median to catch some of the leaking fuel.

The crash also affects I-395.

The Department of Transportation says it will take 12 to 24 hours to clean up the accident.
