Almost 3,000 without power in southern Dutchess

A total of 3,200 customers are without power throughout the Hudson valley, and about 2,700 of them are in southern Dutchess County, reported Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.

"About 2,700 of them are in the Fishkill, Stormville and Hopewell Junction," Central Hudson spokesman John Maserjian said. "This is due to trees down across wires, and large limbs as well."

The rest of the customers without electricity are in Ulster and northern Dutchess counties.

"We have a fairly large contingent of crews working, and we anticipate having all power restored by tonight," Maserjian said.
