Yonkers -2nd Alarm 11-4-04

Time: 1625hrs

Location: 12 Slocum Ave. X Midland Ave

Units: 1st Alarm- E-311, 313, 307, 312; L-73, TL-75; R-1; B-2

10-30 Engine- 310; Car 5, Car 6, MSU 1

2nd Alarm- E-314, 306; L-70; B-1

Description: Heavy fire in a 3-story P/D.

Frequency: 46.500

Writer: Truck4, DFFD227 (O/S)

1625hrs- Original call for smoke in a house from a "microwave explosion," now recieving calls for heavy fire on the 1st floor. B-2 req. Additional Engine (310) while enroute.

1626hrs- B-2 giving smoke showing from a distance.

1627hrs- B-2 rpts 10-29/10-30, fully involved P/D. Heavy fire blowing out 1st floor all around.

1632hrs- 2nd Alarm. L-73 (using L-79) set up to the roof. TL-75 setting up in front. 1 L/S to the front door. Additional lines in process, (1) going to the rear. No exposure problems. House is located on a dead end street.

1640hrs- Co's have fully involved 1st floor with extension to 2nd and 3rd floors, trucks opening up.

1645hrs- Heavy fire has been knoced down. Still have fire condition on 1st floor. All Co's working.

1655hrs- Fire K/D, companies overhaulling.

Fire started with a microwave explosion. The Subject supposedly had something that never should have been in there and it exploded. Soon after there was smoke with no fire visible. The subject then proceeded to vent the house by opening up her front door and using an electric fan to let the smoke out. Oxygen was givin to the fire and you all know the rest of the story.
