The Harris Fire

-Potrero (area of Harris Ranch and Potrero Valley Roads and on both sides of Highway 94), Dulzura, Bell Valley, Barrett Junction, Tecate

-3,000 acres as of 2200hrs

-(1) dead and (17) injured

-5% reportedly contained

-(4) firefighters were overrun by the fire while performing structural protection and airlifted to UCSD Burn Center and are listed as serious, but non-life threatening.

- Over 300 firefighters committed to the fire.

The Witch Creek Fire

-As of 0700hrs 10/22, the Witch Creek and San Pasqual Valley fires have merged.

-San Diego Fire/Rescue IC fears the now combined fire will push toward the coast.

-San Diego Mayor states the fire will enter the city limits soon. He requests that anyone that does not have to go to work to stay home.

-Qualcom Stadium has been opened as an emergency shelter.

-San Diego Police initiated a full recall of all members.
