Good Books on Fire Behavior?

2 posts in this topic

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good books on fire behavior and fire spread? Or any other kind of book thats good to read about the fire service, and training? I think books like this are great to have around to review and stay on top of the basics.

thanks

This has been tossed around numerous times however I recommend:

Building Construction for the Fire Service by Francis Brannigan (not the IFSTA one, make sure its the Brannigan one)

Collapse of Burning Buildings by Vincent Dunn

Responding to Routine Emergencies by Frank Montagna

There is a Fire Behavior book, but I can't remember which publisher offers it. I want to say Pennwell but I am not sure. Also Delmar who the state is now using for Firefighter 1 and 2 curriculums is also publishing some awesome new books as well.

Contact the FSA book store that is located in the basement of the Academy in Montour Falls. They have all of them, generally offer discounts and have free shipping.
