Rialto, CA- Police Officer Shot/LODD 10-18-07

Departments: Rialto PD (45 miles east of LA)

Description: SWAT team, serving a warrant for Narcotics Division, encountered a perp who began to fight with the officers. During the struggle, P.O. Sergio Carrera, 29, was shot in the upper torso, under his tac gear. He was airlifted to Arrowhead Medical Center and expired. Officer Carrera leaves and wife and 2 young children.
