E.F.P.D. New Patrol Cars

8 posts in this topic

The East Fishkill Police Department recently purchased 4 new patrol cars. They are 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors. 2 of the new cars were used to replace the current Sergeants cars 3 and 4, and the other two were put in service as identical slick top cruisers(Cars 6 and 7). Well, after alot of hounding my sergeant friend for pictures, i finally nailed one of them down for a few minutes! Here are some pictures of EFPD car 7

I was never quite sure why they don't put "Dial 911" on their cars, it may just be preference....

Without going into details, it comes down to town vs. county politics. EFPD units should have "Dial 911" on them, just as the EFFD units do, and just as do most emergency units across the country that participate in an E-911 system. Out of respect for the EFPD sergeants & officers who do an EXCELLENT JOB patrolling my town each & every day, I'll leave it at that...

When 911 was coming in to play, a few departments decided they didn't want to participate. EFFD still gets polled from County, they just don't advertise it. However, City and Town of Poughkeepsie and I'm pretty sure City of Beacon do not get called from County. When someone dials 911 for a police matter in those areas, the caller is transferred to their own dispatch. Which I'm sure has it's pros and cons.

I don't like the all red light bar in the back window nor the white light back there that looks like a strobe...could have got a better set up.
