Protection From The Past - EMTBravo

Date: April 1989

Time: 12 Noon

Location: 2 North Water Street - Dains Lumber Co. - City of Peekskill NY

Units on scene : Peekskill FD , Lake Mohegan TS-3 (Retired Engine 250) , Montrose Ladder Tower 8, Car 2271.

Description Of Incident: Working Structure Fire

Several Department assisted in this Fast moving Fire.

Metro North Train service was haulted due to the flames near the tracks.

TR54...as always, thank you for sharing these photos! I love looking at your photos from the past, definately cool to see.

I can remember my father bringing me up on Main St. to watch this fire.

And yes, Scottie does look awful skinny lol. But i guess being Chief a few times over will do that to ya!

I remember walking down after school got out to watch and help carry equipment around. One of the shots of Ladder 45 I believe has my father on the turntable. I think this was the 3rd fire over the history of the lumber yard which dates back to the late 1800's.

At the time Mohegan was one of the only at the time who had 5" LDH back then. Funny how pretty much everyone has it now.
