PD/FD/EMS APPRECIATION NIGHT @ The Thirsty Turtle

8 posts in this topic

I know this is last minute but tonight at the THIRSTY TURTLE in WP there is a PD/FD/EMS Appreciation night. I just talked to one of the managers and here is the deal. $40 all you can drink from 9p-1a. Half of the $$ is going to the BURN UNIT I believe over at the MEDICAL CENTER. I know of at least 1 person that is selling FDNY T-Shirts for a LT that DIED in the Bronx. After the tragedy over the weekend might be Shirts to help the other families. Not sure how it plays into PD/EMS but What the Heck if your not working and can get out of the house for a little while stop down and show your support. I have asked the owners many times to do something like this without it being for somebody that is dead or hurt. Guess they finally took me up on that. Hope to see some of you.

t-shirts will be sold for Lt. Carpluk from E-42 who died a year ago in the bronx. They are $10 a shirt, and all proceeds go to the family.

I just hope the money gets to the right people and not going in to a general fund. thats one of the reasons that I run a independant foundation not affiliated directly with the Burn Center. BurnCare can work directly with the staff and the paitents. The Hospital cannot use any of the Foundations funds. Just make sure the money donated to the Center is going to go and do the things you want it to do.

I hope they have a sucsessfull night

at the turtle, its $10 to get it...just to walk in the door on any given night (that money has nothing to do w/ the cause, it just means they let u in). giving $40 for a good cause is fine w/ me, but i used go to the turtle enough that those $10 entrance fees start to add up, thats why i don't go as often anymore.
