I couldn't help but to notice that you're getting a P&L Custom truck. My department has 2 2006 E-350/P&L Custom Medallion rigs that we got last year. Not to sound like a jerk, but I hope your department's engineer likes troubleshooting complex electrical system problems; P&L's electrical systems are garbage and short out at the drop of a hat, disabling everything from sirens, lights, radios, even the air circulation system. We got them last July, and out of the last 13 months, they have been OOS for a total of 6 months, non-consecutively. The two "new" trucks have a worse mechanical record than the 2 older ones, each with over 150,000 hard-driven miles.

our 82-B1 is a PL piece of sh*t. the tranny has been replaced twice, along w/ the turbo. the electrical system is very shoddy...warning lights and scene lights crapped out bc of loose wiring many times. its a 2004 rig, that came in service in jan '05. since than we spet about $8,000 each year fixing things (and thats minus what the warranties cover). but, ALL original warranties expire in november. NEVER AGAIN will we get another PL!!

I also forgot to add that the material that P&L uses to fabricate the box is a lighter material than other manufacturers like Braun use. With the lighter weight in the back, be careful when it rains. At the same speed, our 2 P&Ls will skid while our 2 Brauns won't.

yea P&L aren't the best company, we are already sending this one back to get some minor things fixed already, im sure this wont be the last time it gets sent back.

i'll even put up $$$ that it won't be your last time!!
