Cell Phones and I-Page

8 posts in this topic

I know there is a number of people who use the I-page system at 60 Control. Just as a point of information, I recently picked up the Nextel IC502 hybrid phone. Even though the Direct Connect is still on the Nextel Network, the phone is now on the Sprint PCS Network. Once the new phone was activated, I had to have the carrier changed in the system at 60 Control to Sprint. This is true for any change of Cellular Phone Carrier.

Yes. Actually it's the phone number@messaging.provider.com.

example: 8005555555@messaging.sprint.com. At least that's how the text messaging is done with Sprint and Nextel.

I have the same problem with the Nextel Hybrid, but so far it still has not been corrected. I guess it just takes a little time.

Chris, what is the model of your phone? If it's ic 402, 502, or 902, it's a hybrid phone, which means that the Direct Connect is Nextel, but the phone part is Sprint. If you have one of the older Nextel phones, you may need to log on to the website, and check. You will be given a choice of Sprint or Nextel.

Hope this helps

You have to change the provider from Nextel to Sprint on the hiplink (ipage) website. We had a problem with this in our department, but that seems to have rectified it. Another problem has emerged though. Several of our members have Crackberries with different service providers. They don't receive any of the txt messages. Anyone else come across this issue?
