FDNY Fire Bell Club Newsletter?

I'm considering subscribing to the FDNY Fire Bell Club newsletter. On their website, their sample newsletter seems very informative and interesting.

Now, in 2007, is the newsletter still the same great source of information? (Besides WNYF, Fire Apparatus Journal, and the websites)

Also, how do you join the Fire Bell Club? It seems they have some interesting events. What do they do? What is their function?

They are a rather large buff organization. The President is one of my ex bosses. The Newsletters quality has dropped some over the past few years. They used to give a lot more detailed info on certain things, but with the new publisher, it's been minimized. I'm not a member, but they always have a pretty kick @$$ party every year at Marina Del Ray over in Throggs Neck.

They do some pretty cool field trips and get a lot of good info on some of the goings on around the job. Let me know how it turns out. I'm not a member but if you need someone to vouch for you, I will.
