Police said a 47-year-old man was walking by the firehouse at 4:25 p.m. yesterday when John Monroy, 27, of 44 Bruce Lane, Brentwood, accosted him and demanded money.

Several Brentwood volunteer firefighters who witnessed the fight saw Monroy pick up a metal rod and chase the man, said police.
