FDNY Shops-Antiquated?

I've been past the FDNY shops a couple of times (always hoping to find something neat parked outside, but never have), and it looks old and run down. I've seen one photo of the inside of the ladder shop (does anyone know of more photos?).

I'd love to see the inside of this facilty one day, it would be a dream if FDNY held an open house one of these days...I know it would be a well attended function.

Anyways, my main question. Are the FDNY shops outdated? If so, is there even any consideration to building a new faciilty?

Also,besides Randalls Island, does FDNY even have a yard where they keep

"dead" and other vehicles?
