Ford Interceptor: The Next Ford Police Cruiser?

In July's issue of Motor Trend Magazine, out now page 56, there's an article about Ford's new concept "Interceptor", a rear wheel drive "muscle car" package with a big V-8 engine.

Reportedly,from other sources, it would be the replacement in 2008 for the current Ford Crown Victoria, and Ford Police Interceptor.

Here's what the concept looks like, although I'm sure the actual version will be toned down a little. I wonder what the "Police Package" will include on this one...I've heard that there will be a signifcant difference between the civilian and police versions.

I would think the Crown Vic would stay around for taxi fleets.
