Does anyone know if there are any EVOC classes soon in westchester?

I believe WCFTC does periodic EVOC classes. Check with your department training officer who would need to register you for the class, or check the DES website if there is a listing.

Apparatus Operator - EVO

This is a 18 hour course being held on the following dates:

July 16, 17, 18 from 19:00 to 22:00

July 21 from 08:00 to 18:00 w/ 1 Hr Lunch break

Description: Provides vehicle operators with a better understanding of the seriousness of emergency vehicle operations. Based on objectives from National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, Chapter 2, this course stimulates the thought processes to make students aware of the potential for tragedy and finical loss and of the legal and moral responsibilities encountered when operating an emergency vehicle.

Target audience: Fire Service Personnel

Prerequisites: Firefighter 1 or Scene Support Operation and a valid driver’s license

Registration: Pre-registration is mandatory. Register through your chief or training officer.

Chief's and training officer's can register their personnel at; www.westchestergov.com/emergserv.

Each student must present a Westchester County DES Training Permission Form to the instructor. The NYS Training Authorization Letter and the DES Permission Form can be accessed and downloaded when registering. Walk-ins are not permitted.

Class size is limited to Fifteen (15) students.

Venue: Westchester County DES Training Center, 4 Dana Rd. – Grasslands Campus, Valhalla, New York. All students are to park in the lot adjacent to the training center and the police academy. For questions or concerns regarding weather or course cancellation call (914) 231 – 1615.
