New Rochelle's 30-U-1

3 posts in this topic

I have some questions about 30-U-1, New Rochelle FD's MCI Unit.

-It's a Mccoy Miller. Did it come from Transcare, Empress, or someplace else? Looks like the old Empress 20 & 21

-Who staffs and responds with this unit if L-12 and E-24 are out?

-Why does it have the WestchesterGov.com label on it?

-What's contained in the unit?

The ladder 12 crew also staffs this? I thought that was housed at station 4. Last time I was there they were housing E24, E17 (Or one or the other spares), the gator, and the unit above.

30U1 is out of Station 4 along with E-24,17 and the gator. It depends on where the call is. On I95, E-24 & E21 respond so E-22 crew would have to man it. Anywhere else E-24's hydrant man would follow with it. Basically it carries everything needed for a MC incident(ie. backboards, bandages, neck braces etc.) It is not meant to be a transport, just a big first aid kit. I believe it's an old bus from Transcare, as for the WeschesterGov I have to check on it.
