KS. FF Killed While Responding (The Secret List)

May 13, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A volunteer firefighter with the Rose Hill (Kansas) FD was killed late Friday night when he lost control of his pickup truck while responding to the scene of a house fire. The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pickup driven by FF Brandon Daley, 19, rolled several times and he was thrown from it after he lost control of the vehicle north of Rose Hill.

The alarm for the working fire came in shortly after 2300, the first apparatus left the firehouse carrying five firefighters. Daley missed the rig when it left the firehouse and decided to drive himself to the scene instead of waiting for additional apparatus to respond. Details to follow.

Our deepest sympathy go out to all effected, the RHFD members and especially the family of FF Daley.

Take Care-BE CAREFUL.

Very sad to see the loss of a 19 year old brother. Another reminder to buckle up, slow down and arrive alive. Seems that there have been far too many MVA LODD's this year already. Make the pledge to yourself to wear your seatbelt, slow down and have the courage to be safe!
