White Plains DPW Newest Addition

White Plains DPW has always been quite interesting. There is no real consitency in their fleet and the types of vehicles they operate.

This is the most recent addition to their fleet, just delivered last week. Truck 510, 2007 Freightliner one of three delivered.

Sadly, with this one they went even more el cheapo. Instead of the White and Yellow paint jobs on the trucks delivered in '06 and before, this one is plain white with a vinyl stripe.

Suppoed to be a 2006 Freightliner/Jerr Dan Rollback Car Carrier for fleet maintenance use.

I guess this is why they bought the new Freightliners pictured above.

And continuing with the unusual, here's White Plains DPW's version of a Ford F-450 with a dump body. Anyone know what is the advantage to this kind of dump body? After some research, it's supposed to fit in the truck bed without having to remove the bed.

And, hiding in the fleet maintainence garage was a "antique" WPDPW truck. Wonder if that will be making any appearances at community events this spring/summer?
