In NYC we've developed tactics in conjunction with ConEd to fight vault and manhole fires. There is currently an effort underway to establish fire attack guidelines for transformer and yard fires because there is a safe way to fight live electrical fires. I'm sure someone on here works for one of the area power companies, so here's my question. Why isn't there a greater effort to do this else where?

For everyone else reading this... Has anyone around had to stand around and watch something burn while waiting for the power to be killed? Would any of you enteed the structure to try and contain teh fire to the point of origin and save the rest of the structure? Pick a questin,
