Is it just me or is that a really long engine? Or was it a small stick that someone tried to take into a parking garage?

that is the first thing i said to myself when i saw that. that thing is huge. One thing to take into account is, the height. The overall height of the rig seems relitively low, so maybe they made up for height restrictions with length. does anyone know the wheel base/ overall length of that rig? also is its replacement any smaller?

Yea, our old Engine 134 was HUGE!

But from 1989 to 2007 it did the job.

In 1989 we purchased the former E134 and the former L45

from Pierce.

The ladder was a 105' rear mount. Funny thing is when you parked the two

rigs side by side they were just about the exact same size.

The rumor I heard over the years was that the old E134 was built on a Ladder Truck chassis.

Party...you didn't realize that its actually 2 photos did you. They took the picture of the front end on a Tuesday and the rear end on Sunday when it arrived. lol.

They didn't call it Amtrak for nothing. The low height didn't do anything to assist with the length/turning radius.
