National FF1 Test

Does anyone know when there is a national FF1 test coming up? or where I would find the info. I checked the DES website and found nothing

There is going to be a National FF 1 cert held in Putnam County on May 6. Please go to the website http://www.dos.state.ny.us/fire/firewww.html to get an application and to find out about the requirements. You can also contact the Putnam County Bureau of Fire at (845) 808-4000 for more info.

NATIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAM FIREFIGHTER 1

Written/Practical Exams

Designed for: All Fire Service Personnel

Prerequisites:

1) First Aid & CPR (cards do not need to be current)

2) And one of the following options:

a) Firefighter 1

Basic & Intermediate FF, and Hazmat 1st Responder Ops

c) Essentials, Initial Fire Attack, FF Safety & Survival, Fire Behavior & Arson Awareness, Hazmat 1st Responder Ops

Date/Time: Sunday, May 6th 08:00 hours

Location: Putnam County Fire Training Center

Cost: $50.00

If interested, please call Janet at 808-4000 ASAP to request a seat. You will be sent an exam application, instructions for payment, etc. Proof of prerequisites must accompany application.

There is a minimum requirement of 10 students to hold the exam.

This exam is based on the IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting, 4th Edition.

REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 20, 2007

Interesting, I hope it comes off. I signed up to take it in Westchester but the exam was cancelled because of lack of interest and had to go to Montour Falls instead.

Anyone know if they wil lbe doing the FF2 exam as well?
