More Yonkers Orders?

Quoting this months FAJ magazine, Yonkers has apparently approved additional fire apparatus to include: (This is in addition to the current units that are about to be delivered)

2 ALF pumpers (For E308 and E309)

1 new Tower for L71

New Collapse Unit

New Foam Unit

New tractor for the HazMat trailer

New Field-Comm unit

New Command Post Unit

2 Buses for Special Ops

2 SUV's

New 23' Boat

If anyone from YFD can confirm these it would be great. Yonkers should have some impressive fleet by the end of the year!

With the upcoming arrival of 3 New ALF Eagle Pumpers to replace the current 3 Smeal Rigs for 307, 310, and 312, would that mean that 2 of the old Smeals would be converted into a New Collapse Rig and a New Foam Rig (To replace the Current 1988 Mack Collaspe Rig and the Current Supthen Foam Rig) OR are do the plans call for the purchase of 2 New Pieces of Apparatus, specifically designed to be as a Collapse Rig and a Foam Rig?

I BELIEVE(??) that it will be 10 years old by the time the new one's in. That rigs certainly seen enough hard years in that area.

whats there replacement period? I remeber seeing pics of one of the towers (don't know which one) having most of the paint and lights on the rear melted off. Is this one of the reasons why its being replaced?

A Couple of Additional Questions For Chief Fitzpatrick (or anyone else within YFD). Is this New Collapse Rig will be similiar in nature to a Heavy Duty Rig, will ALF be looked at as one of the main manufacturers to bid on it, or are there other Fire Apparatus Manufacturers who specialize in the manufacture of specialized rigs such as a Collaspe Rig? Also, will be New Foam Rig being a Specially Designed Rig, specifically for the use of Foam? Finally, with the photo (below) of the 3 New Rear Mounted Smeal Ladder Trucks (very impressive) has the New Ladder 74 with the Lettering of YONKERS just below the overhang of the ladder and above the front windshield. Will Ladders 70 and 73 also have the same lettering?
