New York Police Shoot Man Who Allegedly Threatened Two EMTs With A Knife

Police shot a man they say was threatening two  EMTs with a knife in Williamsburg, Brooklyn Saturday morning. 

Authorities say the EMTs were responding to a call at 240 South Second Street, when the man appeared and started to stab the closed ambulance window. 

Police soon arrived on the scene. 

They say they pulled their weapons after the man refused to drop the knife. He was shot in the abdomen and is in critical condition. 

"It was 6 o'clock, 6:12 in the morning," said a witness. "I heard like six shots…I got up from the bed and stayed awake to see if I was going to hear the police, but I didn't hear no police car or nothing so I thought it was something else. Then at 7 I went to take a shower and when I came over here to wash the clothes, I see the police and everything around the corner." 

The man's brother was also shot, in the leg. It's not known exactly why. He is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.
