Radioshack Pro-70 Scanner Help

Well, I bought a pretty basic field programmable RadioShack Pro-70 scanner on eBay for about 30 bucks. I thought it was a good deal. Seeing as i’m not into radios too much, just wanted to have the option to listen around when I’ve got some spare time on my hands. Only issue is, I can’t seem to pick anything but dutchess 911 up on the scanner. At first I thought maybe it was the small size of the "rubber ducky" antenna that was included. So, today I went out and purchased a RadioShack "enhanced" antenna. After throwing it on, no luck - still unable to get anything but dutchess.

Like I said, I don’t know too much about radios. I looked over the manual, but there really doesn’t seem helpful with the issue i'm experiencing. Any help/guidance is most appreciated!

Just a little FYI - i’m in Poughkeepsie right now and threw in a load of frequencies from FDNY, NYPD, state police, dutchess sheriffs
